CRAVE GENIUS FIELD NOTES

Keep your brand recognizable across every channel

Can your team create consistent communication without starting from the beginning?

Brand consistency becomes easier when the people producing and using creative assets have clear material to work from. Your team needs to know which files are current, how they should be used and where a new piece needs a deliberate creative decision.

Begin with the approved identity. Gather the right logo versions, colors and type choices in an accessible location. Include examples that show the identity in use. A team member preparing a presentation needs practical guidance they can apply to the task in front of them.

Then look beyond the logo. The hierarchy of information, image choices and tone of the writing all contribute to how the business is recognized. A campaign can have its own idea while still making sense as communication from the same company.

Consider the conditions in which each asset will be used. A printed brochure, a social post and a large display have different requirements. Plan suitable versions so the team can use the right material for each placement, rather than stretching one file into every situation.

Accessibility should be part of that design work. W3C’s introduction to web accessibility explains that people need to be able to perceive, understand and interact with digital content. Readable contrast and clear information help ensure the audience can use what you have created.

Keep the asset collection manageable. Give files useful names, separate approved versions from drafts and identify who can request changes. When a product description or company fact changes, the people maintaining the collection need to know which materials are affected.

These foundations can reduce repeated decisions while preserving the judgment involved in new creative work. A template can carry the familiar parts of the identity, while the message and composition are developed for the specific audience and purpose.

If your team is working from mixed logo files, old presentations and improvised layouts, we can organize the creative assets and guidance they need. A usable collection gives the business a clearer basis for communicating consistently.
